Katja Schupp
Professor / Johannes Gutenberg University MainzA professor for audiovisual publishing at Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz, Germany, Katja Schupp is researching contemporary expressions of audiovisual journalism: from tv to journalistic and documentary multimedia formats to new forms on social media. She studied history and communications science in Münster, Germany, did her Ph.D. in history in 1999 and then earned a Master of Journalism from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. Katja Schupp held lecturer and researcher positions at the Deutsche Welle Academy, Bonn, and at Institute of Multimedia Production at the University of Applied Sciences in Chur, Switzerland, and still works as a filmmaker, doing documentaries for arte, 3sat, ZDF and SWR since 15 years.
